so, i don’t have much to write about but i’m overdue for a post, so i figured i’d just start writing and see what came to me.  i am pretty happy right now, well, i probably shouldn’t HAPPY, that’s a bit of an overstatement, but i don’t feel really bad, which is a step in the right direction.  carl was gone sunday-thursday last week, i’m so glad it’s OVER, i really hate it when he travels, have i expressed that enough??? he will be gone this week wednesday-friday, which isn’t too bad, it could definitely be worse.  last night i went over to my friend sarah’s house (all by myself, no baby!), her husband also travels for work but the situation is a little different, he travels to FIND work, he does construction and there is just nothing around here right now.  he’s been gone for over a week and they’ve got three kids and one car, so sarah is stuck at home with three kids and no car.  i’m pretty sure i would lose my mind.  they lost their cable tv a while back so they got netflix and then they lost their internet, so now they can only watch whatever dvd’s they’ve got.  then she told me she went to take the garbage out and the garbage company had taken their trash cans because they hadn’t paid the bill.  i feel so bad for her, especially with christmas coming up, no money to pay your bills probably means no money for presents.  i wish i could help her out but we are stretched pretty thin financially.  a local radio station does a what they call a “holiday break-in” where they sneak into your house, decorate, leave presents and fill your cupboards with food, if i had known things were that rough for them right now i would have nominated her, i tried to today but it’s too late for submissions, boo.  hopefully something comes through for her husband in the next couple days and they get some money for christmas (and to pay their bills).

i guess i did have something to say after all! on a lighter note, after hours of haggling with verizon on the phone, they FINALLY agreed to send me a new (different) phone, whatever you do, don’t ever get a kin two (or one for that matter).  the reason i got it in the first place was because it has an 8 megapixel camera and wi-fi and i do a lot of texting/picture messaging, which is exactly what never worked on the phone, the wi-fi and picture messaging.  i actually don’t even think you can buy them anymore, probably because they are so junky.  this is what it looked like:

first they tried to replace it with some crappy phone so i had to call them and complain that it didn’t have to same functions as my current phone, so they sent me an lg enlighten, it’s a smartphone and it operates on the droid gingerbread system and i LOVE it.

i’m so happy because i can finally do everything i want with my phone, this thing has capabilities that i don’t even understand, i mean, it’s not an iphone or anything, but i’m pretty happy with it, especially since it was FREE.

louise is doing good, a little crabby, maybe getting more teeth? not sure.  i can’t wait until christmas so she can play with her kitchen! i so love christmas, if i could buy presents for everyone in the world i probably would, i even like wrapping them.  only two more weeks, yay!!

thanks, i will see if i can sign her up.

  3. You’ll gasp but…
    I have a flip phone.
    It is definitely not smart.
Yes I’m embarrassed by it, but it works for calling…so there’s that.
I’m really sorry to hear about your friend. Stories like that make me so sad. When my husband was out of work and I was only working part time, we had to scrounge for presents for our son. Luckily I only have one child. I can’t imagine having 3 and going through Christmas. Or everyday.
I’ll send prayers for them. I hope that something awesome happens for them.
    And yay for being happy!!!

haha! i had a flip phone but it was quite a while ago :) it was a razr and i actually really liked it. i don’t think i could live without the qwerty keyboard now though, it makes texting so much easier and i do a lot of it.

  5. i love the keyboard that you got now- I hate my touch smart phone and honestly, I miss my old razer too :(

Sorry about your friend— will also send prayers for her- that is such a tough place to be. Sigh.

mine has a touch screen keyboard too but i rarely use it. my husband has a blackberry, that keyboard confuses me!

  7. I love it when I think I have nothing to say and then all this stuff comes out.

Sorry about your friend, but I’m glad to hear about the phone. Persistence pays off.
