pinback and work

on monday i got out of work early and my husband and i drove to ann arbor to see one of my favorite bands (pinback) play, it was awesome, the bar was tiny and there was only about 150 people there tops…

PinbackAnnArborNov2021i took the next day off so we spent the night in ann arbor and slept in the next day, then we went out to lunch and stopped at an outlet mall on the way home.  i have been throughly unimpressed with outlet malls lately, this one had a motherhood maternity store so i went in to see what the price difference was, the clerk told me there is no difference from their regular stores, they have the same clothes at the same prices, they just have more as is and clearance stuff.  this seemed to be the case at most of the stores, no real good deals to be had.  the nike store had some pretty cheap shoes though, that would be a good place to buy kids shoes, i had to resist the urge to buy the cutest baby shoes ever, baby a is not even born yet, she DOES NOT need tennis shoes (they really were cute though)!!!

i am still feeling pretty good but working full-time is getting hard.  it would be fine except that right around 2:00 every day i get hit with a wave of tiredness like no other, i feel like someone has drugged me until about 4:00, it totally sucks, so i told my husband today that we might need to think about me cutting back a little.  i have of course been worried about how much weight i am going to gain, so far i have gained seven pounds, i don’t think that’s too bad, i was hoping to stay under twenty but now i’m hoping to stay under fifteen, that would be awesome.

  • Wow. I’m 20 weeks and have already gained 11 pounds. And I’m still running every day. You must be doing something right :) Sounds like a fun time in Ann Arbor.

  • Sounds like you had a great time…sorry the tiredness has kicked back in! I haven’t hit that wall yet, but I’m sure it will be coming. Your weight gain sounds great!! I’m over the 2o pound mark already (from my calculations anyway, not really positive where I started with the ivf cycle).

  • damn, you are doing awesome at the pregnancy weight, wow!!! glad you had a fun outing! are you completely cutting out caffeine? i didn’t, i still allowed myself a little bit a day… maybe you could have a small serving of caffeine during that time of work when you start to lag?

    • well, that’s kind of a long story. initially, no, i hadn’t cut out caffeine 100%, BUT… my mom has a heart condition that i’m pretty sure i have as well, i’ve just been ignoring it so i haven’t actually seen a doctor about it yet. she had arrhythmia and had to have an ablation. i was noticing that my heart rate was high (100-120) and irregular at the end of of the night, so i decided to see if cutting caffeine out completely would help, and i think it has, so i’m sticking with it.

  • ohhh, go on! get those tennis shoes, they sound so cute!!!
The tiredness thing must be hard, I hope you can cut down your hrs at work soon as I guess that you’ll just get tireder (thats not even a word!) as the weeks go by.

    • don’t encourage me! you should see the area in our bedroom devoted to shopping bag after shopping bag full of baby clothes, it’s ridiculous! she probably won’t even get the chance to wear them all since they grow so fast!

  • well then that is good that you cut caffeine out then hon. glad it is working for you :) sorry, i’m kinda a dingbat, i think you told me about that before, when we were chatting about redbull. sorry, i have a crazy brain right now, hee hee

  • That’s so strange. 2:00 is the same time I feel wiped out. Maybe it’s a universal pregnancy thing…
